Lewis, Samuel. 1840. <p>The fourth edition of Lewis&apos;s <i>Topographical Dictionary of England</i> is a historical and statistical account of<br><br> the cities, corporate and market towns, parishes and townships in England. </p> <p>Arranged in alphabetical order, the information contained in this dictionary includes such things as: the distance of the town from London, the population according to the 1831 census, a historical summary of the place, descriptions of the local environment, scientific and literary institutions, commerce, trade and manufactures, ecclesiastical and religious establishments, present income and much more.</p> <p>Also included are the seals of several cities, corporate towns, universities and colleges.</p>
